Q: I got really tanned and want to remove it. How can I do this?

Getting “really tanned” means that your skin is actually getting damaged, so make sure you are keeping an eye on your skin. Please read one of my previous posts to learn more about tanning and how it can be harmful to your skin.

Furthermore, we cannot remove a tan from our skin because a suntan is not an extra layer on the skin that we can actually remove. A suntan is more the result of hyperpigmentation of the skin, instead of the forming of an extra layer on the top of your skin.

Remember, a suntan is actually damage to your skin. A suntan is not removable at all.

However, you can expedite the healing process by moisturizing your skin and use zinc de oxide cream on the sections that are too red. These should help mitigate some of the symptoms associated with the very deep tan.
