Email Question: 8/5/2022

Question: After using this new cleanser and moisturizer for only 4 days, my skin started to shed under my mouth and it became dark. Is this hyperpigmentation? I’m scared because I dont want it to become permanent. When will my skin go back to normal?

If you would provide the brand and the type of products that you use, it will be easier to find the reason why this happened.

My guess is that probably there may have been some salicylic acid or another kind of acid in the ingredients that were exfoliating your skin too much.

Again, my guess would be that this particular product is for oily skin and not the right one for your specific skin. It is taking too many layers off your skin.

What you can do is you can leave it alone for some time (if you are under 25 years old) because your skin will make collagen and rebuild the new layers to protect your skin again.

However, if you are over 25 years old, because your skin’s collagen production decreases as you grow older, it would be good to start using highly concentrated vitamin E and vitamin C cream. Make sure to only apply these at night time.

During the daytime, use moisturizer for combination or dry skin, as well as your sunscreen, no matter what happens.

Thanks for the question!
